Salamandra

Health

[YELLOW]Surrendered with a litter of 3 day old puppies. Has been in foster for approximately 6 weeks until puppies were weaned. In foster, dog was protective of puppies around unfamiliar people and would snap if approached. Affectionate and easy to handle by foster mom. Co-existed peacefully with 7 resident dogs in foster home of various sizes, has tried playing with large dog. Shows prey drive toward chickens and will chase, likely will chase small animals and possibly cats (none in foster home). Because puppies have only recently been separated from her, expect her behavior to change with time. Likely will need a slow introduction to a new family/environment, giving her time to adjust at her own pace. Unknown how she will behave around children. She did snap at children 12+ when they were visiting her puppies; unknown how she will behave when puppies not present.B B B [2026-09-19 16:28:00.000]
