Born in Janesville. Headed as far as our paws will take us.

findfido started in Janesville, Wisconsin, with the shelters forty minutes from home and one simple idea: the right dog is usually closer than you think.

Every night we pull adoptable dogs straight from shelter and rescue systems across the country, then show you the closest ones first. In Janesville that's Rock County. In Madison it's Dane. In Denver it's Denver. Wherever you are, the first dogs you see are the ones you could go meet this weekend, with rescues from everywhere else right behind them.

Fido is our AI breed reader and matchmaker. Show Fido a photo and it reads the breed mix in seconds, then finds the adoptable dogs nearby who look like yours. Tell Fido about your life and it suggests dogs who would fit it, and explains why. Fido's reads are estimates from a photo. They are not a DNA test and not a veterinarian's opinion. Treat them as a smart starting point, then go meet the dog.

Free for adopters. Free for shelters. Always. The site is supported by local businesses who sponsor their region and by a small commission when you buy through our shop links. Sponsors never change which dogs you see or how Fido ranks them.

Fido Labs LLC is one person in Wisconsin and a lot of dogs. If you run a shelter or rescue, list your shelter. If you run a local business and want in, say hi.
